He stressed that "the United States prefers to resolve crises through the diplomatic path, but at the same time it is prepared for the possibility of the failure of these efforts," pointing out that the Iranian regime, which has been in place for 47 years, includes parties that are "not necessarily considered supporters of diplomacy or peace."
